eVTOL

Envisioning Tomorrow’s Travel Experience

Generative Research and Visionary Design for Advanced Air Mobility

The Challenge

As Delta explored a groundbreaking partnership with an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) company, I was asked to envision a seamless, future-forward customer experience for a service that didn’t yet exist.

Goal

Conceptualize a premium eVTOL experience that is integrated into LAX’s busy travel ecosystem.

Objectives

• Understand how high-value 360 customers imagine using eVTOL travel

• Identify opportunities for seamless integration into the broader travel journey

• Report to executive leaders with compelling design-led concepts that demonstrate strategic value

My Role

I led the exploratory research and concept design for Delta’s Innovation team. I collaborated with external stakeholders. My work bridged customer insight, service strategy, and future-state storytelling.

Customer Exploration

I conducted in-depth focus groups with Delta’s premium 360 Members, asking them to co-create speculative travel scenarios. Their input shaped expectations around convenience, multimodal connectivity, and service design.

Cross-Functional Ideation

I facilitated a collaborative workshop with stakeholders from Delta, Joby Aviation, and LAX. Together, we explored feasibility, operational alignment, and service scenarios rooted in real-world constraints.

Experience Design & Visualization

I developed journey maps and storyboards that illustrated an end-to-end eVTOL experience highlighting moments of interaction, emotion, and brand expression.

The Outcome

The design concepts helped leadership envision the future of advanced air mobility and directly influenced Delta’s decision to make a $60 million equity investment in Joby Aviation.
